Wulingyuan Attractions

According to geologists, this land was covered by a vast sea 360 million years ago; then it gradually emerged as a result of later crustal movements, which protruded the yunan guizhou plateau and made the dongting lake area subside. Millennia of cut and erosion by water ultimately led to the formation of its peculiar landforms, which are marked by pinnacles of immense relative heights and crisscrossing gullies and streams.

 Now, it has evolved into a huge stereoscopic landscape painting, embodying the characteristics of queerness, perilousness, beauty, tranquility and wildness. It is known for its queer and perilous peaks that pop up into the sky. It is beautiful owing to the exotic flowers and lush vines that grow everywhere. It is all the more tranquil with winding streams murmuring all year round. It is a wild and densely blanketed with primeval second growth. It has made a huge natural zoological and botanical garden sheltering numerous old strees, bizarre flowers, preious birds and rare animals.

The zhang’s land national forest park is the central section of wulingyuan scenic area strolling eastward down the golden whip stream, sightseers can get to the suo stream valley; and northward, the son of heaven mountain. Its pleasant service facilities are sufficient to receive thousands upon thousands of chinese and foreign tourists every year.

The suo stream valley naturel reserve, the second section, is endowed with wide gullies,miraculous caves and clear lakes; and the suo stream town, a borough of zhangjiajie city, boasts dozens of expensive hotels.

The son of heaven mountain nature reserve, the third section, is a tableland in the wuling mountains,high enough for tourist to watch scenes in all direction. It provides a broad view of the surrounding grotesque peaks veiled in lingering cloud and mists. The fourth section is the yangs’ land scenic area.
