Loudi's tourist resources fall into 3 categories: caves, historic sites and summer resorts. The Waving Moon Cave in a suburban village of Lengshuijiang City is known as “a magnificent underground palace.At its entrance,there is a small lake shaped like the waxing moon. When the moon rises to the zenith, visitors can see in the flashing lake both the softly waving reflections of the bright moon and the semicircular entrance to the cave, hence the name The first hall presents a dense forest of stone pines with extended branches as if they were welcoming honored guests, thus the name "the guest welcoming Hall". The Hall of Goddess of Mercy shows a life like image of the goddess seated on a lotus stand, and a wonderland of gold twigs and ice flowers as if the Galaxy were resting before the stand. The ball-room, spacious enough to hold 2,000 people, is well appointed curtains, stages and lights are all easily spotted; yet the seats foraudiences are found being hung from the ceiling they would automatically come down when immortals arrived for a party. The PuzzlingHall provides a labyrinth of deep valleys and grotesque stone.

The 27 halls offer a great variety of marvellous sights that are unique to themselves separately And to add to its mystery, many scenes of the TV program A Pilgrimage to the West were shot here 3 other well known caves are the Cave of Nine Skylights in Lengshuijiang City, the Immortals Cave and the Goddess of mercy's Cave in Lianyuan City. Among the historic sites here, 2 are memorial halls: Museum of Cai Hesen(1895 1931,a founder of the Communist Party of China) in the county town of Shuangfeng and the former residence of Luo Shengjiao(1931-1952, a martyr in the Korean War)in Xinhua County. Some other laces of historical interest are the old Monastery atop of the Nine Peaks Mountain and the Temple to Goddess of Mercy in Shuangfeng County, the Memorial to the Medicine Master in Lianyuan City

Of the summer resorts, the scenic area around the Temple to God of Water and the meiliang River tourist resort are the bestknown. The former, consisting of a water area of 45 km2 and 34 is lets, is an ideal place for aquatic sports. The latter,32 km from Lianyuan City, proves o be a me famous tourist resort of a great variety of scenes.
