Mount Fanjing
Mount Fanjing, named after “Brahma and pure land”, is located at the junction of Yinjiang, Jiangkou and Songtao (southwest) counties in Tongren city, guizhou province. It is located at 27°49 ’50 “– 28°1′ 30” north latitude and 108°45 ’55 “– 108°48′ 30” east longitude, close to Yinjiang county, southeast Jiangkou county and southwest Songtao county. It is the main peak of Wuling mountain, a buddhist Taoist temple and nature reserve in China, located in the middle of Tongren region.
The total area of Fanjing mountain is 41,900 square kilometers, including 25,800 square kilometers of core area, 2,800 square kilometers of buffer area and 13,300 square kilometers of test area. The main protection objects are the rare wild animals (Rhinopithecus roxellanae brelichi) and plants(Davidia involucrate Baill) and the native forest ecosystem. With 95% forest coverage, there are more than 2,000 species of plants, 31 species of plants under state protection, 801 species of animals, and 19 species of animals under state protection. It is known as the “oasis of the earth”, “gene bank of plants and animals” and the precious heritage of mankind.
on October 17, 2018,Fanjing mountains was named the national 5A scenic spots, national nature reserve, on June 30, 2008, it was named China’s top ten summer famous mountains, The famous maitreya bodhisattva ashram in China, and international “man and biosphere protection network” (MAB) members, is also designated to be the world natural heritage by the 42nd session of the world heritage committee . on July 2, 2018, Fanjing mountain was approved to be included in the world natural heritage list at the world heritage congress held in Manama, Bahrain.
